Executive chef and owner of Mai Thai, Pathomkon Mung-In, was the Executive Chef of ‘Basil’, the Sheraton Grande’s award wining restaurant. He won critical acclaim of his robust and comforting Thai cuisine.

By incorporating elements of traditional Thai cooking techniques with the cuisines of Southeast Asia, Executive chef Mung-In created innovative, elegant, and intricate menus that personified a new style of Thai cuisine. Under his direction, ‘Basil’ was honored with “Bangkok’s Best Restaurant Award” as one of the top Thai restaurants in 2000, 2001, and 2002 and was rated as the “Best Thai Hotel Restaurant” in 2001 and 2003.

Focusing on local and seasonal ingredients, chef Mung-In intends to transform the menu at Mai Thai by crafting innovative interpretations of classic Thai cuisine that marry the traditional with the contemporary.
